The Move2Treat project participated in the 32nd International Conference on Plastic Optical Fibers (POF 2024) in Tokyo, Japan with two oral presentations.
- Presentation by Professor Kyricos Kalli with regards the femtosecond laser inscribed CYTOP-based POF Bragg grating, with tailored length and inscription accuracy for use in the brain, tested via acute, in-vivo measurements, demonstrating the potential for time-extended brain temperature measurements.
- Presentation by researcher Andreas Ioannou with regards the monitoring of lumbar puncture epidural procedures, by embed FBG sensors in CYTOP polymer fibers within the epidural needle, providing real-time feedback on forces and bends as it navigates tissue layers.
